The music, speed, aesthetic, and challenge of Hotline Miami are all present in the demo for Anger Foot. However, we get a different view of the action as it’s all from a first person perspective. You kick down doors with your big fat foot, then kick in the faces of the lizard men on the other side. Why? Who cares!? Much like Hotline Miami, once you start the ruckus, all the enemies come swarming to you, so it’s easy to get over whelmed, but also easy to pick them off one by one as they come through the doorway. It’s all about dispatching everyone as fast as possible and moving on, as each level is scored by your completion time. One hit will send you back to the start, however, so don’t get too cocky.

Anger Foot seems like a masterpiece of aesthetic meeting design. It moves so fast with so many vibrant colors blurring by that the trailers make it look surreal or even fake. However, I can attest that the game actually plays and looks this wild. It’s weird, it’s violent, it’s gorgeous, and you should try it. Naturally it’s brought to use by Devolver Digital, and I can’t wait to see how vicious it can get.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and Metroid on the NES with my older brother, and never being able to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun. I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and play Quake II once, but now I request days off from work instead of lying. Age of Empires II is still the best RTS, Half-Life is still the best FPS, and I still think the end of Mass Effect 3 was great!
