Gamers better get their wallet ready, as Black Friday can be an expensive time of year. A great time to grab the year’s best games at amazing prices, and 2019 is no exception. GameStop has just revealed it’s lineup of Black Friday deals and the list is incredible as always.

Perhaps the most surprising deal is 50% off of the entire GameStop franchise, so if you’re looking to purchase a struggling old-media business with no prospect of recovery, this might be the right time to grab a copy. This isn’t the first time GameStop has offered a discount on it’s entire business holdings, but it’s definitely the cheapest we’ve ever seen it. Plus, it comes bundled with all of GameStops add-ons, including GameInformer magazine, their GameTrust publishing label, and years of mounting debt. So this is a great chance to jump in if you haven’t already.

It’s true that the public reception of GameStop has waned in recent years, but there’s no denying that this is a gaming classic. GameStop first pioneered the idea of marking up used games almost 100% over what they paid for it. Removing digital codes from game boxes and still selling them as new. As well totally making shit up to force you to buy used games. Even if some of the mechanics have aged, their impact on the industry in undeniable.

It’s the best time of year to be a gamer, with so many great games coming out and older games getting massive discounts, it’s hard to pass up such a great deal on the entire GameStop franchise. With the holidays coming up, it may be the perfect time to sit down with this highly lauded followup to Funcoland and Babbage’s, and attempt to pull it’s smoking carcass from a rotting pile of used discs and financial ruin. After all, there’s nothing gamers can relate to more than stubbornly refusing to move forward in an industry built on innovation and change.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and Metroid on the NES with my older brother, and never being able to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun. I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and play Quake II once, but now I request days off from work instead of lying. Age of Empires II is still the best RTS, Half-Life is still the best FPS, and I still think the end of Mass Effect 3 was great!
