Praey for the Gods, aka Shadow of the Colossus with snow, will be entering its early access phase on January 31st. Praey for the Gods completed its Kickstarter two years ago, exceeding its goal, and has since been in a beta phase. This week’s early access launch is the next step on its development. The game is openly taking many cues from Shadow of the Colossus. It will feature a massive, beautiful world with giant bosses to fight. Just like Shadow, you are a small character inhabiting a big world and are up against massive foes. The current beta, available to Kickstarter backers, features five bosses, but the final game will have more.

No Matter Studios has said that the early access phase will allow them to work directly with their fans to make Praey for the Gods the best it can be. They said that the game should be in early access anywhere from 6 to 12 months. No Matter Studios is a small three person team consisting of Brian Parnell, Tim Wiese, and Hung-Chien Liao.

We’ll have more on Praey for the Gods when it launches in early access on Steam on January 31st. In the mean time, take a look at the early access announcement trailer below.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and Metroid on the NES with my older brother, and never being able to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun. I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and play Quake II once, but now I request days off from work instead of lying. Age of Empires II is still the best RTS, Half-Life is still the best FPS, and I still think the end of Mass Effect 3 was great!
