The folks over at Frogwares have put out 12 minutes of uncut gameplay footage from their upcoming release, The Sinking City. In it Charles Reed, a private investigator, is sent to Oakmont, a flooded New England city. There he must speak with the city’s residents to uncover the secrets that are plaguing the area. All the while he has to keeps his wits about him, as not all of the city’s citizens are what they appear. And the terror that has it’s grasp on the city is also creeping it’s way into Reed’s own mind.

The Sinking City combines the investigation gameplay of Frogware’s previous Sherlock Holmes games with a semi-open world, rife for exploration. It also pulls heavily from H.P. Lovecraft’s works, so expect a story full of Occult imagery, bizarre creatures, and cosmic horror. There’s a big emphasis in the trailer about the lack of hand-holding during the investigations, so if you’re up for a real sci-fi detective game, The Sinking City should be right up your alley.

The Sinking City is scheduled to release on June 27th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and can be pre-ordered now. You can check out the game’s website for more information and stay tuned to Voxel Voice for more as we drift closer to the release date.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and Metroid on the NES with my older brother, and never being able to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun. I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and play Quake II once, but now I request days off from work instead of lying. Age of Empires II is still the best RTS, Half-Life is still the best FPS, and I still think the end of Mass Effect 3 was great!
