RIVE: Ultimate Edition will hit the Nintendo eShop on Friday, November 17th. This will be another entry in the long list of indie games coming to Nintendo’s new console. Two Tribes will also be making good on their Nindies@Home promise that they made back in 2015. They promised to give a 15% discount to anyone who downloaded the RIVE demo on the Wii U, and that discount will now be offered to everyone who buys RIVE: Ultimate Edition on the Switch. The 15% discount will offered for the first two weeks RIVE: Ultimate Edition is on sale. After the promotional period, the game will go back up to it’s original price of $14.99.

RIVE first appeared on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2016. It is a fast-paced 2D shoot ’em up with platforming elements. You play as a flying tank with the ability to “hack” enemies to modify their behavior. The game is mission based and features leaderboards to inspire repeat playthroughs. In addition, RIVE: Ultimate Edition on Switch will feature a two player co-op mode allowing each player to control their own tank using the Joy-cons. It will also run at full 1080p resolution and at 60 frames per second, 720p in portable mode.

It’s nice to see more indie support on the Switch, even if a number of the games have been available on other systems for some time. In the case of RIVE: Ultimate Edition, Two Tribes has put in the effort to add features and improve performance over other versions. Combine that with the 15% discount and it’s hard to complain.

Will you be picking up RIVE on the Switch? What other indie games would you like to see brought over the Switch? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Voxel Voice for more info.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. and Metroid on the NES with my older brother, and never being able to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun. I faked being sick so I could stay home from school and play Quake II once, but now I request days off from work instead of lying. Age of Empires II is still the best RTS, Half-Life is still the best FPS, and I still think the end of Mass Effect 3 was great!
